If you're still having trouble with serialized strings to pass arrays from forms, try avoiding
them altogether:
<?
if ($cmdok)
echo urldecode($x[0]) . " " . urldecode($x[1]);
?>
<body>
<? $x = array("element 0","element 1"); ?>
<form name=frm1 method="post" autocomplete=off>
<?
for($i=0; $i < count($x); $i++)
{ ?>
<input type="hidden" name=x[] value=<? echo urlencode($x[$i]) ?> >
<? } ?>
<input type=submit name=cmdok value="ok"></td>
</form>
</body>
