Be warned if you use different parameters for mysql_pconnect() in different scripts on server: PHP
can create single persistent connection for every set of parameters in each process up to
mysql.max_persistent (PHP directive) per process. So even if you have MaxClients Apache directive
set lesser then max_connections MySQL directive, you can easily get Too many connections MySQL
error.
If mysql.max_persistent is set to other value than -1 (unlimited, default value), connections over
this limit are silently denied, so use it with care.
Solution: For servers with potentially unlimited set of connection parameters, forbid persistent
connection with mysql.allow_persistent=Off.
