If you try to compile PHP on a Debian Sid System with Apache2 already installed via apt-get, you
need to patch the Makefile to have the apr headers properly included, as they are not at the usual
place:
Make sure you have following packages installed:
> apt-get install apache2-dev postgresql-dev
Look up for configure options:
> ./configure --help > configure-options.txt
I had to pass the path to apxs2:
> ./configure --with-openssl --with-pgsql --with-zlib --with... --with...
> --with-apxs2=/usr/bin/apxs2
An now for Debian Sid only, patch the Makefile:
Search for the line 'INCLUDES = ' and append '-I/usr/include/apr-0' at the end.
> make
> make install
Voilà!
