A dot within the brackets after die will cause an error:
die($a.$b); won't work!
Instead you can either put
print($a); die($b);
or
$c=$a.$b; die($c);
The same thing for
print($a.$b); die($c);
instead of
die($a.$b.$c);
etc.
I don't know why, but it's the sad truth.
