A comment on the May 2nd comment.
Your machine is returnning GMT time. MST is at -0700 GMT, as I remember. So at 5 p.m. MST you are at
1700 MST. Now MST is 7 hours "behind" GMT, so add back the 7 hours, which is 2400 GMT, so
after 5 p.m. MST it IS a new day in GMT. So the function is returnning GMT time with no problems.
