My apologies if this post does not look right.
Dont you need the dot pre and post the variable with quotes?
ie: SET pic='$thisimage' WHERE
should be SET pic='".$thisimage."' WHERE
So this:
$qry = "UPDATE tblmodel SET pic='$thisimage' WHERE ID = ".$line['ID'];
should be this:
$qry = "UPDATE tblmodel SET pic='".$thisimage."' WHERE ID =
".$line['ID'];
