I take back the bit about Mac OS 10.0.2 (my bad) it does mutually support a database query in both
forms.
FreeBSD seems to be supporting queries in both formats too.
I have yet to experience any PHP for Windows - it would be healthy to know if it has been
whole-heartedly deprecated there (or anywhere else) as per Red Hat Linux.
