Note Submitter: robin@NOSPAM.vmedia.com.au ---- The extent of deprecation of this query varies depending on which platform's version of PHP you are using; PHP 4.1.2-5 on Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 r1 supports both mysql_db_query($mysql_database, "$query") and mysql_query("$query", $mysql_link) very interchangably. Similarly with PHP 4.2.3 on IRIX 6.5.16 PHP 4.0.something on Red Hat Linux 7.something has already fully deprecated the mysql_db_query($mysql_database, "$query") and insists on using mysql_query("$query", $mysql_link) PHP 4.2.3 on MacOS 10.0.2 has yet to make the transition at all - changing queries mysql_db_query($mysql_database, "$query") to mysql_query("$query", $mysql_link) simply don't parse.
