For information about how to install satellite, you need to look at the readme file which is under
satellite.
Here is a link to it :
http://viewcvs.php.net/viewcvs.cgi/~checkout~/php4/ext/satellite/README?rev=1.3&content-type=text/plain
Basically you must use a CVS version of ORBit to compile php against.
ORBit also seems to be somewhat touchy about which version of glib is installed on your system,
requiring >=1.2.7. The relevant tarball can be found at
ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/v1.2/
Make sure you uninstall the previous version of glib if you are resorting to the above, as the orbit
install is easily confused over versions and will stop. Ulitimately we had to delete the original
glib and provide a link to the new library.
You may get a problem with corba_defs.h failing due to an unterminated #if:
The matching #endif for some reason is on the end of the following typedef struct. Put it on a new
line. You'll find several instances of this. I know it says don't edit the file, because
it's been produced automatically, but as far as our linux version is concerned (suse 7.0),
it's WRONG. This is probably something to do with the gcc preprocessor version, but I'm
not going to go into that.
