To get this to work and really have 3 digits displayed i had to change this line
$perms=(substr($octalperms,3));
into this
$perms=(substr($octalperms,2));
if i wanted to check fileperms. on directorys. If used on dir it displays only 2 digits using the
above example. No idea why. On files however the above example is correct.
