It is important to point out that the result of both SELECT ' ' and SELECT '' is the string ' '. That is, the php mssql functions will return a phantom space for any empty strings. See http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=26996 and http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=25777 PHP does not classify this as a "bug" because the MS DBLib cannot tell the difference betwene the two cases. Earlier versions of php trim'd strings automatically. It may be a good idea to ltrim and rtrim your results in some cases. ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.mssql-fetch-object.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+49236 Delete: added to the manual -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49236&report=yes&reason=added+to+the+manual Delete: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49236&report=yes&reason=bad+code Delete: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49236&report=yes&reason=spam Delete: useless -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49236&report=yes&reason=useless Delete: other reasons -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+49236&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+49236&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
