I also just encountered the mssql_query() error whereby UPDATE and INSERT queries appear to return FALSE even if successful. I believe I have discovered the answer. Simply insert the following before your queries: mssql_min_error_severity( 2 ); Read the man page on this function call and you will see that mssql has several error "levels". The default setting is 10, which appears to mean that even warning-type errors are being triggered, thus mssql_query() returns FALSE. Hope this helps someone else. :) ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.mssql-query.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+50176 Delete: added to the manual -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+50176&report=yes&reason=added+to+the+manual Delete: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+50176&report=yes&reason=bad+code Delete: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+50176&report=yes&reason=spam Delete: useless -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+50176&report=yes&reason=useless Delete: other reasons -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+50176&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+50176&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
