The documentation for flush() states: flush() has no effect on the buffering scheme of your webserver or the browser on the client side. Thus you need to call both ob_flush() and flush() to flush the output buffers. What it does not state is the order in which the functions should be called. This is the correct order: ob_flush(); flush(); These functions do not need to be called repeatedly (as other have stated), merely in the correct order. ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.flush.php Edit -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+53472 Delete: added to the manual -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+53472&report=yes&reason=added+to+the+manual Delete: bad code -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+53472&report=yes&reason=bad+code Delete: spam -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+53472&report=yes&reason=spam Delete: useless -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+53472&report=yes&reason=useless Delete: other reasons -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+53472&report=yes Reject -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+53472&report=yes Search -- http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
