with regard to [dave at corecomm dot us]'s comment :
"tbellefy at yahoo dot com" and "post at penest dot no" needed to change
timezones with date and used mktime(). That certainly works, but all the individual date() calls
seems like a lot of effort.
The date() call can be pared down :
$now = mktime(date("H")+5, date("i, s, m, d, Y"));
for UTC on an EST server
