In order to get the OCI8 support to work in Apache1.3.12/PHP 4.0.3pl1 on Redhat 6.2, I needed to set
the environment variable "LD_PRELOAD=libclntsh.so.8.0" in Apache's startup file.
Without it the httpd daemon would not start. Setting the normal Oracle enivironment (including
LD_LIBRARY_PATH) was not enough.
