note 58284 deleted from ref.xsl by nlopess

Following on from problems mentioned by Claus and Justin, I found that all I had to do was to point the extension_dir directive to the right folder: extension_dir = ext This may sound obvious, but I had simply copied the php files from the zip file without making any alterations and used the recommended php.ini file. However in this file the extensions directory is the php root folder (C:\\php in my case) and not the extensions folder (C:\\php\\ext). I would have expected this to be set correctly by default.
