strtolower vs strtr
Well, on my machine (amd64, php 4.4.0) strtolower is a lot faster than strtr in the default C
locale, running jbr's test code:
core function strtolower() X 10000 took 0.055569
core function strtr() X 10000 took 0.095258
strtr() function is ( 1X ) faster than the strtolower() function!
