The reason for sending the whole diff is to get an instant peer review
of all patches. If you patch 15 files, doing individual diffs for
every single file is just way too much bother for anyone, with
individual revision numbers for every file. This "free" sanity-check
of committed patches is a requirement for being as relaxed about
giving out CVS accounts as we are.
If you're on a slow modem, don't read CVS log messages. Unless you
use POP of course, but why on earth would anyone want to do that?
