Are there reasons why I shouldn't just register my own shutdown
function (via register_shutdown_function()) in my own PEAR package
instead of using PEAR's destructor mechanism?
It seems preferrable to handle shutdown conditions internally to the
package where it's applicable, but maybe I'm overlooking some implicit
advantages of PEAR's system.
