Final for you, maybe. But if this really is everyone´s opinion, why are
there any other template classes? Why isn´t everyone using Smarty?
Because there are other opinions.
If your application is _designed_ for working with logicless templates,
true layout separation can be achieved. The most important thing for me
is that the one who has to design HTML templates does not have to learn
anything new (and that maybe everytime another programmer uses another
template engine) and also he doesn´t have to know anything about the
underlying code. All he gets is a list of placeholder-/blocknames and
what they´re for and then he´s ready to go.
The programmer on the other hand doesn´t have to care in any way about
the design - he can develop his code using the most basic templates and
the HTML designer can then take over.
More often than not, coding/logic and design/artistic creativity don´t
mix very well.

Markus
