Unfortunately there were not enough +1's to bring it in ;-)
Anyway, a few people were interested, so having your new proposal here
additionally to my old one, it seems that there could really be a need for
such a thing.
I don't mind if your or my solution would be taken for PEAR in case of
enough +1's, generally I'd like to see one of them in PEAR.
