My mistake, i had compiled php with disable-pear, the phpize and php-config
scripts were dating from php 4.2.3.
I compiles like a charm now ;))

Hi. APD builds fine for me. Are you sure that the php-config and phpize in
your path are the correct ones for php-4.3.0? I had the redhat default
phpize and php-config still on my system, and even with the correct pear
installer it found the older ones instead of the newer ones (and generated
the exact error you received). I removed them and it installs like a charm.
Seems liek a bug in the installer (i.e. it should run configure with a
specified php-config).
