I was working with PEAR from the 4.2.x branch, but, after noticing pear
on the trunk has the INSTALL_DIR feature, I switched to using that with
PHP 4.2.2 instead. In trying to make it work I got a few warnings,
which seem non-fatal. Attached is a patch that does three things:
1) uses $argv from $_SERVER rather than assuming $argv is registered in
the global name space
2) Checks the return value analyzeSourceCode before calling
buildProvidesArray with the return value
3) Check to make sure that an array index exists before using it.
With these applied the only remaining issue is that PEAR_Registry
attempts to do mkdir in its constructor on the real directories the when
PEAR_Installer is created in install-pear.php. Immediately after trying
this the PEAR_Registry that PEAR_Installer creates is replaced so it
isn't a big deal.
Thanks.
