Two notes --
1) As of now PEAR classes are automatically installed with PHP --
will the XMMS library just be omitted from the PEAR build system?
2) Yes, we and we should do the same as Perl -- If we're going to
nuke dl(), there should be something like Perl's "use" which can
bootstrap a module into PHP whether it be a PHP class or a C
extension (DSO).
