OK :), we finally understand ourself, good thing ;-).
Take a look to the Date package, that makes sense to add your class to
it, as Time_Span, and provides respective methods to each Date classes
to work with, and, i.e., provide a setFromDiff(Date1,Date2); to
initialize a time span.
Doing it this way will make the work easier when an updated is neeed.
Everything will synced before any release. Keeping our nerves and minds
safe ;-)
