I was looking at the list of packages, and notice PEAR::Crypt_HMAC, which is
relatively new and performs a subset of what PEAR::Message does (an older
package). I might have missed the discussion when that package was submitted
for consideration.
BTW, PEAR::Message uses mhash if present, otherwise it falls back to a PHP
implemented HMAC for MD5 and SHA1.
It would be better to merge any modification (if any) that Derick has into
Message or a similar approach. But I am OK w/ having redundant classes if that
is the consensus.
