The "Digest" name was considered cryptic (to make a pun ;-), when I firs
proposed the package (it was its original name). For some reason that I do not
completely recall (and being connected w/ a slow modem does not help searching
the archives), the final name of "Message" had more adherents.
As for changing the name to Crypt_Digest. It would be OK, as long as it is
noticed in the current Message page that such name change has occurred, and
that future code will be released under that name. That way people that are
using PEAR::Message can migrate to the new name. Do not see much of a problem
if there is a migration pathway.
