indenting pear code automatically

there is an indent-call
suggestend for pear-code:
indent -nut -bap -br -ce -cli4 -ncs -ss -npcs -saf \
-sai -saw -nprs -bfda -psl -brs \
-lp -nbbo -hnl -i4 -ci4
when i use this, the php-code looks good, but it destroys all the
closing and opening php-tags. "<?php" becomes "< ? php" and
"?>"
becomes "? >".
has anyone a clue how to prevent indent, from doing this?
