Hi
Initial PEAR installation on Win32 is still quite tricky and has to be
completed with some weird manual renaming/copying steps. Without
reading the right posts in the pear-dev archives one could get lost.
Related bugs are #17516, #21619, #21787 among others. Also, the
go-pear.php script needs a cleanup, at least when it comes to the
windows specific code (directory guessing etc.).
Once setup, PEAR works perfectly (well, most of it).
Quite a few people have recently worked on this issue, some pear-dev
members and some people from outside which I CC'ed. If we would join
forces, PHP 4.3.2 could maybe be released with PEAR working also on
Windows.
I'm available for testing but I can deliver usable code. Are there
others who are willing and have time to help?
