Hi,
Because i'm a lazzy man, i wrote a tool in the spirit of CPAN for PEAR
packages.
From a package, BagPack generates
- package summary (transform text to html)
- link to doc/html/[index.html | package.html | book1.html]
- create .phps files
- download page with known versions
- changelog file (if ChangeLog file is provided in package)
- package classes and functions documentation (still have to add
defines, packages and global vars)
- an index page will all packages available in the BagPack directory
You can find its result and the first development version here :

I'm not a naturally born template designer so you may find pages quite
'ugly' :) They are just templates, you can modify them as much as you like
to integrate BagPack result to your web site.
BagPack heavily use PHPTAL as template engine and thanks to this little
project, i found and fixed some little 'funny' bugs in PHPTAL.
Documentation will follow soon... if you have suggestion or ideas for
this package, my ears are fully opened.
New packages added too (development version) :
- PHP_Source_Tree : extract PHP structure from a source file and generate
a tree (object) that may be used within other libraries (like
documentation tools, unit test percentage computation, etc...). The tree
will be ready for PHP5 format as soon as i'll found full description of
features (i saw contraction with namespaces/class names usage, and a new
document with abstract and interface keywords, i don't kown how serious
they are).
- Text_Document_Parser : a parser for plain text documents, which
understand some document headers, 3 kind of titles, PHP examples, XML
examples, pre-formatted text, text tables, uniform lists, and ordered
lists and which can be extended with your own Elements objects. I'll
document the package during this week, but it is not hard to understand
and an full text example is given in the archive (tests/test.txt).
I'll have to use PHPTAL in a medium web site project in a few weeks, so it
should be more than stable after that.
Regards
