I downloaded php-4.3.2RC4-Win32.zip today and tried the PEAR installer. I have
had
problems with previous versions but I am glad to report it is now working nicely
(It is very slick, congrats to all involved).
As part of the testing I installed HTTP_TreeMenu and had some trouble getting it
going. Turned out to be a problem with where I had put the files in my web tree
(from PEAR/data/HTML_TreeMenu/). The map_fs.php example also seems a little out
of date and
did not work for me (fixed and working now).
I also noticed that some of the files such as the JavaScript and images are
installed to "PEAR/data/" while the examples are installed to "PEAR/HTML/docs/"
(the documentation got installed to PEAR/docs/HTML_TreeMenu/docs/). As
all of these file need to be (manually) moved to your web tree it seems to me
like
they should all go in PEAR/data/. Is this correct? Should I create a patch for
package.xml?
Docs were copied to "PEAR/docs/HTML_TreeMenu/docs/". This also applies to the
other packages on my system and seems redundant to have the extra doc directory
for each package.
My reading of
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/developers.packagedef.php
make me think they should go into "PEAR/docs/HTML_TreeMenu/".
Is my understanding correct?
