It seems the run-tests.php which is used by the command
pear run-tests was designed to run only inside PHP source
tree. For example running tester under own class directory
or pear directory one gets:
-cut-
Warning: opendir(/usr/local/lib/php/pear): failed to open dir: No such
file or directory in /usr/local/lib/php/run-tests.php on line 237
ERROR: cannot open directory: /usr/local/lib/php/pear
-cut-
This is because the find_files() function tries to find
.phpt files in three directorie (tests/, pear/ and ext/).
Not beind able to find directory pear/ it dies with
exit(1).
So i's suggest thath the run-tests.php installed
by make install-tester either silently bypasses the
directories it cant open or just issues a warning but
does not die.
