Hi Stan,
No it's not easy like MySql for sure. But it's so feature rich, and really usefull features too, like subselects, views, stored procedures etc.. Managing tables is a bit backwards. Adding fields etc is not nearly as neat as in MySql, but that's where the frontend from my last post does a really nice job. It transparantly creates temp tables to emulate a mysql like Alter table command. So withg that tool it's almost as usable as MySql. I find it a really cool combination.
I got my windows version from this mirror, but it's called a "proof of concept" but it worked fine for me. I don't use it for production though, I use a Linux version for that. http://ftp.iasi.roedu.net/mirrors/ftp.postgresql.org/binary/v7.3.1/Windows/
HTH,
Jeroen

Jeroen, Where did you download the binary from? I always have a hard time navigating their web site, it's not like mySQL's, easy, and quick. - Stan Jeroen Houben wrote:Stan Lemon wrote:Postgre would hold a possibility if tere was a decent Win32 copy out. I've played with their current release, which you need to cygwin to run, I think I'd rather try compiling PHP w/ mySQL after that experience. It was horrible, no joke. (I would be interested in anyone who has somehow managed to get it wo work.)I got 7.3 to work on winXP. I don't think I did anything other than run the installer. I use http://ems-hitech.com/pgmanager/ as a frontend, i think it's pretty nice and pretty cheap. Jeroen
