I've got the following message from Bob Trautman - he was installing PEAR on Win:
------
correctly. I did find another problem that you may already know about.
I am operating under Windows 98. It seems that I was still receiving
errors from your code that checks for folders and files. What I found
is that there is a difference in how Win95/98 and NT/2000 handle
directory checking. Attached is the changes I made to the code to set
global variables as well as changes I made to check for folders and
files. Apparently with Win95/98 to check for the existence of a
directory you would use a statement such as:
If Exist c:\php\cli\php.exe\nul then echo found
The \nul is required. I read that I could check for the version of dos
and then set a variable. These two statements you will find at the
beginning of the routines to check for folders and files. I could not
get the statement: IF %ver%==4 set dirfix=
working correctly. It seems the %ver% global system variable is not
recognized. Thus I hardcode the /nul into your routines. This will
work for win95/98 but not for NT/2000.

Unfortunalty the attachment was deleted by the mailserver, he tries to attach again.
