First of all, let me apologize for all the emails about this - PHP works
exactly as it should - the problem lies elsewhere:
I've discovered that the browser seems to be posting two or three POST
requests at a time, thereby causing the multiple page loads. I've got a
screen shot of the access log if anyone is interested. I'll be sending a
bug report to M$oft.
It's MSIE6.
Perhaps someone else was having the same problem and this will help.
Best Regards,
Matt Friedman.

problem. MORE INFO
This problem also occurred on Windows in the latest php version. I am at a
loss however, I'm not able to reproduce the problem in a reliable way. At
least not today anyway.
I also cannot say that it has anything to do with DataObject. I do not
think it does at this point. It seems that under some circumstance that I
am not able to figure out, php loads the page multiple times during one
request.
Here are some of the log results I am getting:
Jul 06 16:51:54 editor_test.com.log [info] START NEW TEST...
Jul 06 16:51:54 editor_test.com.log [info] EXITING THIS PAGE.
Jul 06 16:51:54 editor_test.com.log [info] START NEW TEST...
Jul 06 16:51:54 editor_test.com.log [info] EXITING THIS PAGE.
Jul 06 16:51:54 editor_test.com.log [info] SHUTDOWN FUNCTION CALLED.
Jul 06 16:51:54 editor_test.com.log [info] SHUTDOWN FUNCTION CALLED.
Jul 06 16:51:54 editor_test.com.log [info] START NEW TEST...
Jul 06 16:51:54 editor_test.com.log [info] EXITING THIS PAGE.
Jul 06 16:51:54 editor_test.com.log [info] SHUTDOWN FUNCTION CALLED.
The log messages are written using the Log functions in PEAR - they could
be out of order due to the way Log handles file locking etc..
This is all happening during one page request. Sorry, but I can't explain
it at this time. The only other thing I noticed is that this only seems to
occur during POST operations. It doesn't seem to happen during GET.

DB_DataObject multiple insert problem. MORE INFO
PM
I'm just checking everything into cvs now so I can check it out onto
another server with a different php version.
When I had debugLevel(1) I just saw the insert done once - since the
problems appear to be happening after shutdown - you won't see any useful
debugging output (in the browser) unless you can log the debug output.
Here's something even wierder:
I created a shutdown function that simply logs the words: "SHUTDOWN
FUNCTION CALLED." to a file. This function gets called multiple times. The
log gets written to multiple times [before and after page shutdown] - Very
Very Strange.
I'm going to keep working on it - I'll try to find out if this is a problem
exclusive to DataObject or if I can reproduce it without invoking
DataObject.
Keep the thoughts and info coming. Thanks!
Matt Friedman.

What I can say now is that on the server in question, the PHP version
is 4.3.1 as well. I have access to that server only at work though, so
I can´t test anything today.
I have set up a small script on friday that tries to do the bogus
operations without Flash and AMFPHP involved, so I´ll try that one
tomorrow with DataObject´s debug level set to 1.
Have you tried to set debug to 1 already? If so, what was the output?

Markus
