Hi,
I have started to write a class that handles the Nokia Image Upload Server
API. You can find the API specifications there:
http://www.forum.nokia.com/ndsCookieBuilder?fileParamID=2838
IMO, they are not that well written and I hope a revision will come soon.
Still they allow to do some interesting basic stuff.
The idea is to allow the transfer of the pictures you take with your Nokia
phone (7650, 3650, they have camera integrated) from your phone to your
server through GPRS.
What does it do ?
At the moment, it is possible to use a custom-made function to login. If
this function returns true, a session is started and the client application
on your phone (CLIENT) can perform other actions on the server. By default,
there is no credential check, so everyone can login.
The actions you can perform are:
- createDir : to create a new album on your server
- dirList: to get the list of the existing albums on the server
- upload: to actually upload the image
Other actions like dirContents, deleteItem... will be implemented later as
they are not yet supported by the client app.
I use a system of containers, just like it is done in Auth or DB. At the
moment, I only have a DB container that store album and photo informations
in DB and pictures on disk. I am planning to write a photoStack
(http://www.photostack.org) container.
Upon upload, I plan to add the possibility to call a custom-made function
for image manipulation (for example rotation, thumbnail creation...). The
call for the function could be triggered by a special char in the photo or
the album name.
I still have to finish the code and test it properly before posting it to
the list. I just wanted to have your comments and eventually ideas, feature
requests and help proposal...
The package name could be HTTP_NokiaImageUpload but I am open to other
suggestions.
Regards,
Bertrand Mansion
