I would go further and claim for "room" for other non-wiki sources.

IMHO wiki is not the best format to use for the intermediate (or master) format,
even stored in an array. It's far from being extendable.

Why not take advantage of XML "power" to manage an XML intermediate format, that
you can easily transform into several output format?
Wiki other XML
SPIP ----> Intermediate XML ----> XHTML
b2 PDF
Or even, for PDF generation from a Wiki source, you can apply to renderer (what
difference between your renderer and filter?):
Wiki ----> Intermediate XML ----> XSL:FO ----> PDF

This would be the base for the Wiki to XML parser...
That's just my point of view, I don't want you to take all this as critics.
