I have to deal with an application that need to support both pgsql and oci8.
It was originally written for Oracle, but it is being ported to Postgres. My
problem is that Oracle always returns column names in uppercase, while
Postgres does exactly the opposite thing.
My quick fix was to patch pgsql module to add a configuration parameter that
forces return of uppercase associative arrays.
I would really hate to have to go through the whole code and change all sql
statements to put double quotes around each column name (we're talking some
50.000 lines of php code).
How do you deal with this issue? Any expiriences?
