+1 from me. Though you should also be forward looking and see what support libxml2 may have for these protocols. There may be something usefull there since libxml2 will be default in php5.

Hey, I have stumbled across a great thing which would be handy especially in SOAP/XML-RPC transactions, this is XML Encryption [1] XML Encryption supports any type of encryption, I would like to offer a HMAC solution (this is, after all, what it was for) which *may* use PEAR::Message (not sure that it can as its not the entire message that is Digested always) but will most likely use Crypt_HMAC. I would also like to propose Crypt_PGP (or GPG which do you prefer?) which will be a wrapper around the PGP/GPG binary, and can be used in conjunction with XML_Encrypt and also XML Key Management is needed (perhaps I will write a seperate package for XML Key Management [2] too as it has other uses, XML_Key_Management an OK name?) Feedback on these ideas welcome and whether or not you'd like to see me work on this stuff... I expect to have some working code in 2 weeks or so if work doesn't take up too much of my time. - Davey [1] http://www.w3.org/Encryption/2001/ [2] http://www.w3.org/2001/XKMS/
