XML Encryption supports any type of encryption, I would like to offer a HMAC solution (this is, after all, what it was for) which * may* use PEAR::Message (not sure that it can as its not the entire message that is Digested always) but will most likely use Crypt_HMAC.
Hi, I had started writing an XML_Encryption class some months ago, but never finished it because of lack of algorithms in PEAR. I wasn't too inclined to using mcrypt library, since it's not bundled by default. IIRC, there were some people working on new algorithms (Christian Dickmann, Tim Thorpe, Michael Bretterklieber...) but unfortunately there are not enough of them yet. If you want to have a look at what I had done, I could send it to you, but it's nothing more than a rough draft. I'd be really happy to see a XML_Encryption class in PEAR, so Go, Davey, Go! :-) Lorenzo
Sure, mail it to me if you like, I also have some other code I which is a good starting point. Its worth noting that the package will be able to take advantage of: * HMAC * mcrypt * mhash (I guess... no reason why not, if HMAC is there) * PGP/GPG HMAC will require no dependencies but AFAIK, theres no (fast, useable) userland implemenations of ANY actual encrypting methods (such as blowfish. Will look though) - Davey
