Hi,
some more questions on my XML_Serializer package.
As this package grows, I think it would be wise to put some common methods,
that can be used by other XML_* packages in a new package called XML_Util
(name could be changed, of course). This package offers static methods to
replace XML entites (<,>,&,',") in a string, to convert an associative array
into an attributes string, and to do some other common tasks. These methods
are needed by a lot of classes and including them in every package is
redundant and produces errors (e.g XML_Transformer_Util::attributesToString
does not replace entities in the attribute values, which could produce XML
that's not well-formed.
So I think supplying one package that does these really simple tasks allows
the XML_* package developers to concentrate on the main tasks.
Furthermore I'd like to hear your comments on another subject:
Should there be two packages: XML_Serializer and XML_Unserializer or if I
should include both classes in one package. If you prefer the latter, how
should the files be organized? XML/Serializer/Serializer.php and
XML/Serializer/Unserializer.php or XML/Serializer.php and
XML/Unerializer.php?
Waiting for your comments...
Stephan
