Stephan,
+1.
In the _serializeObject( &$object ) method:
you should also check if the magic functions "$object->__sleep()"
exists
and execute it before serialized the object.
Likewise for unserialize: "$object->__wakeup()"

Hi,
as there have been some discussions about XML_Serializer, here's what
I've
planned:
1. Remove the GLOBAL variable and replace it with object properties
=> No static method calls possible anymore
2. If a special options attribute is added, the types will be added to
the tags (object, array, int, float)
3. I will build an XML_Unserializer, which allows you to unserialize
data. If there's a type attribute it will restore the original data
structure
4. classes will be able to supply tag names and XML representations
(like Alan suggested)
With these changes everybody should be happy :-)
Stephan
