PHPDocumentor problem

Howdy,
I am trying to run phpdoc on a box w/ php documentor installed, and am getting a lot of errors because
phpdoc wants to write/touch files in
/usr/local/lib/php/PhpDocumentor/phpDocumentor/Converters/HTML/frames/templates/phphtmllib//templates_c/
Here are some of the errors.
PHP Warning: touch(): Unable to create file /usr/local/lib/php/PhpDocumentor/phpDocumentor/Converters/HTML/frames/templates/phphtmllib//templates_c/docblock.tpl because Permission denied in /usr/local/lib/php/PhpDocumentor/phpDocumentor/Smarty-2.5.0/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1516

IMHO this tool should not try and write/touch files in the pear installed dir, because this prevents anyone other then someone w/ write privs to the pear install dir to even run phpdoc....as I am seeing in this case.
Here is my command line for running phpdoc
