You can install PEAR by two ways:
1) From a php distribution (--with-pear if you compiles it)
2) Using the http://go-pear.org script
Read more at http://pear.php.net/manual, you can't
just download from CVS. As an
advice, use the version stable 1.1 not any of the 1.2bX betas.
