Hi!

If it's like this and you know about "orphaned" packages (although not officially orphaned yet) why don't we discuss this open and if we find interested people that might consider taking one or two of those packages we'd just politely ask the current lead's to retire and please give their trust to the new lead. I guess that's the best way to handle it.Well, right now I am trying to get a response from HTTP_Request's maintainer, Christian Stocker. BTW, Christian, if you are reading this please contact me!
What packages are we talking about? You've made us all interesting ...I do not want to raise too much flames, so will just give a 'classic' example: http://pear.php.net/package-info.php?package=PHPDoc The thing had known bugs for ages, there were fixes for them that never got applied and yet it was not deprecated in favor of the working solution until recently. Unfortunately the original developer lost interest in his packages, and no one was capable enough to properly support his code.
