Hi Sebastian,
Examples of implementation would really be great!
Anyway, I'm very interested in your component model
because I'm currently working on an app framwork
which uses a component architecture similar to yours.
And I also planned to propose this to pear... ;-)
Do you want events to be objects?
Why, what do they do?
I think events are only messages containing
information. They do nothing - why not
simply use an array for an event?
Hmmm, ok, I think I have to finish my own
component model in the next days, so that we
can have a nice discussion about components and events
and I have additionally another feature: plugins ;-)
Regards,
Matthias

What is missing is a standarf for component-based development. Writing such a standard and developing a reference implementation thereof has nothing to do with the aim of PEAR or PHP.Component model may be nice for your own projects, but should it be part of PEAR?Yes.In this case I think it should be discussed what features are missing ;-)That is why I made my proposal at the earliest time possible.
