This bug has been fixed in CVS.
In case this was a documentation problem, the fix will show up at the
end of next Sunday (CET) on pear.php.net.
In case this was a pear.php.net website problem, the change will show
up on the website in short time.

try updating the package (pear install -f Auth) .. it may also be fixed
there as well.

In method start the session is automatically started without a check if
a session already exists. This leads to the notice "A session had
already been started - ignoring session_start()" when dealing with
applications, which use session_start() and set session variables prior
usage of Auth.
