This has already been fixed in CVS some time ago. The changes will be

It's impossible to auth with the Auth_HTTP class.
Some users foudn a solution on the mailing list :
Replace the assignData function by :
function assignData(){
if ($_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_USER'] != "") {
$this->username = $_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_USER'];
}
if ($_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_PW'] != "") {
$this->password = $_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_PW'];
}
}
Then it work well...l
