I recently submitted a bug to bugs.php.net which has had no response to it, not even to acknowledge that it is a bug. It's a very strange and convoluted bug and has something to do with the _serializeValue function in Base.php. Here's a summary:
If a PEAR server class calls a function which in turn calls OCILogon, but the OCILogon fails, the server segfaults Apache. Setting my own error handling function before the OCILogon call fixes the problem, so it seems that the error is in the error handling function (or maybe how it would interact with the OCI functions).
The url for this bug is: http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=25942
Someone, please test this and see if it's a problem on other machines.
