I'm thinking about modifying my copy of the XML_RPC module for a project, but wanted to see if anyone had any advice first. I'm going to separate the sending and receiving functions. Therefore, if you're contacting three different hosts, they can be working in parallel.
Rather than:
send_and_receive(host 1)
send_and_receive(host 2)
send_and_receive(host 3)
... I could do ...
send(host 1)
send(host 2)
send(host 3)
receive(host 1)
receive(host 2)
receive(host 3)
This way, all three hosts can be working at the same time, instead of blocking on the first host.
Looking at the code, it looks like it shouldn't be too hard. Basically, just turn the "$resp = $msg->parseResponseFile($fp);" into it's own method.
Any suggestions... hints... objections? Obviously it won't be "official" PEAR code.
